The Forbidden Rites event has eight challenges, but you do not need to treat all of them as separate grinds. A good route lets several objectives progress together while you level, clear Rituals, and build your Atlas. The real time-savers are knowing what to do naturally and what needs a dedicated farming session.
- The Riteseeker — Do It During the Campaign
This is the easiest challenge to combine with normal progression. You need to complete 11 specific Ritual encounters across Acts 1–4 and the Interludes.
Do not skip Rituals in the listed zones. When you enter one of these areas, finish the Ritual before moving on. There is no reason to come back later just for this challenge.
Best strategy: campaign route + Rituals at the same time.
- The Hunter — Kill Named Rares on the Way
The Hunter requires 15 named Rare Monsters from the campaign. This is the challenge most likely to be missed during a pure speedrun because these enemies are scattered around optional areas.
Keep the target list open and kill a named Rare whenever it appears near your route. Do not spend five minutes searching a zone during your first pass unless you are already nearby.
If you finish the campaign with missing targets, then do a dedicated backtrack session.
Best strategy: kill nearby targets naturally, backtrack only for missing ones.
- The Ascendant — Complete Ascendancy Progression
The Ascendant requires all eight Ascendancy Points. The early Trials fit naturally into campaign progression, while the final requirement needs stronger endgame preparation.
Do not create a separate farming plan for the first three Trials. Complete them when they become available. Save the final Trial for when your build has enough damage and defenses.
Best strategy: combine with normal character progression.
- The Master — Reach Level 90
There is no shortcut here. Level 90 is a long-term objective, so trying to force it early is usually inefficient.
Once your character reaches comfortable endgame mapping, focus on safe XP rather than chasing every dangerous encounter. Deaths become increasingly expensive at higher levels.
This is also where efficient POE2 Currency farming can naturally support your progression because better gear makes safe high-tier mapping much easier.
Best strategy: leave this running in the background while completing other challenges.
- The Reliquarian — Farm 50 Ritual Uniques
This one requires dedicated Ritual farming. You need to receive 50 Unique Items from Rituals, so simply completing campaign Rituals will not be enough.
Once you reach endgame, build your Ritual Atlas setup and repeatedly run efficient Ritual maps. Spend Tribute aggressively on Unique rewards and use rerolls when the available choices are poor.
Best strategy: dedicated Ritual farming session.
- The Nameless — Collect and Use 18 Omens
This challenge is another objective you should work on gradually. You need to use 18 different Ritual Omens.
Do not sell or ignore unusual Omens just because they are not useful for your current build. Keep different types in your stash and use them when appropriate.
If you are missing several late in the event, then specifically target Ritual content and complete the remaining list.
Best strategy: collect naturally, dedicated cleanup at the end.
- The Cartographer — Save This for Endgame
You need to fully allocate the Ritual, Delirium, and Abyss Atlas Passive Trees.
There is no reason to rush this during leveling. Focus first on unlocking maps and earning the required mechanic-specific Atlas points.
Once you have access to consistent endgame content, work on all three trees together instead of completing one completely before touching the others.
Best strategy: long-term Atlas progression.
- The Vanquisher — Final Endgame Goal
The last challenge requires defeating three pinnacle bosses: The Aberration, Xesht, We That Are One, and Atziri, the Red Queen.
This is the one challenge you should absolutely leave until your character is ready. Do not waste expensive attempts with a build that still struggles against high-tier bosses.
Build your defenses first, learn each encounter, then attempt them when your damage is consistent.
The Fastest Overall Route
The most efficient approach is simple: do the campaign Rituals and nearby named Rares while leveling, complete Ascendancy naturally, then transition into endgame Ritual farming.
After that, combine XP farming with Atlas progression, collect Omens whenever possible, and leave the three pinnacle bosses for the final stage.
Do not try to speedrun every challenge separately. The best route is to make one activity complete several objectives at once. Save dedicated farming for the challenges that genuinely require repetition, and you will finish all eight with far less wasted time.
